From Library Journal:
Written by a magician, this is a historical encyclopedia of magicians and their magic effects, paraphernalia, and terms. Entries are quite short for the most part, and treatment is uneven. Only 19 words, for example, are devoted to "sleight-of-hand," and only twice that many to the "American Museum of Magic." "Firewalk," on the other hand, takes up an entire column with considerable historical background included. There are more than 2000 entries. Many containing references to previous literature and numerous cross-references.
